Tripartite Agreement Between Vodafone Egypt, Al-Safy Group, and the international company “Green Packet” to Localize Router Manufacturing in Egypt

Vodafone Egypt has signed a local manufacturing agreement with Al-Safy Group and the international company Green Packet. Aiming to localize the production of high-speed home routers (CPE) in Egypt.

This initiative targets to boost investments in the technology manufacturing sector, enhance growth, innovation, economic development, and promote local industry in the country.

The agreement was signed by Karim Kamel, Head of Fixed Internet Services and Urban Communities at Vodafone Egypt; Mr. Safy Wahba, Founder and Chairman of Al-Safy Group; and Mr. Frodo Rao, Chairman of Green Packet.

This agreement reflects the serious desire of all parties to strengthen mutual cooperation and exchange expertise and technology in router manufacturing, which is a key component of modern digital infrastructure.

It also aligns with the Egyptian government’s vision to enhance the telecommunications and information technology sector in Egypt and contribute effectively to the development of the national digital economy.

Karim Kamel, Head of Fixed Internet Services and Urban Communities at Vodafone Egypt, stated: “This agreement represents an important step towards supporting local manufacturing and enhancing the telecommunications industry by localizing technology. We are committed to fostering innovation, sustainable growth, and contributing to building a strong digital future that supports the national economy and benefits Egyptian citizens.”

Mr. Safy Wahba, Founder and Chairman of Al-Safy Group, expressed his delightness with the signing of this important agreement, noting that it represents a new milestone in the national industry that Al-Safy Group has been working to enhance since its inception.

He pointed out that the company will leverage all its expertise and resources to support the project as the first phase of a broader initiative in the Egyptian telecommunications sector. Additionally, the successful partnership model is expected to expand to new markets.

He praised Vodafone Egypt’s significant role in supporting technology localization and Green Packet’s contribution to creating real added value by transferring knowledge to the Egyptian market. He also emphasized their role in qualifying youth to participate effectively in the industries of the future.
