As part of Vodafone Egypt’s vision to educate and empower Egyptian youth, and the state’s efforts to support digital transformation and promote awareness of cybersecurity and compliance, Vodafone participated in the “Communications Ambassadors” initiative, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the Cybersecurity Administration (EGYCERT), and the Egyptian Union of Youth Entities.
The launch of the initiative was attended by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, and Mr. Wesam Sabri, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports for Youth Entities, in the presence of a number of executive officials from ministries, the National Regulatory Authority, and experts and specialists in the fields of technology and communications.
The initiative aims to build comprehensive digital awareness among young people and youth through a series of training courses and interactive lectures that address the concepts of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital compliance, and methods of protection against cyber threats. The initiative also seeks to train young people to lead Egypt’s digital transformation process with awareness and efficiency.
Vodafone’s participation in the programme complements the agreement signed with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to promote awareness of cybersecurity and compliance, especially in light of the growing challenges in the digital space.
The initiative is set to be implemented in a number of governorates in the coming period, with the aim of spreading digital awareness on a large scale and reaching the largest number of young people across the country, in support of the state’s efforts to build human capital and enhance its capabilities in the digital age, which is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
