by Ahmed Hassaan

Helwan University today witnessed the launch of a comprehensive package of automated digital services in a landmark event that embodies the state’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation and enhancing financial inclusion within the education sector.
The initiative was launched in collaboration with eFinance for Digital and Financial Investments, a leading financial technology group in Egypt and across Africa.

The event, held at the University’s Arts and Culture Complex, featured an introductory presentation about Helwan University and a video showcasing the new services, followed by official speeches highlighting the importance of partnerships between the academic sector and the digital financial sector in shaping the future of university services.
The event also included a panel discussion on the prospects of digital transformation in higher education.

A New Era of Smart University Services

This milestone reflects Helwan University’s commitment to improving students’ lives and developing a fully integrated digital learning environment.
A unified smart mobile application, branded under the university’s name, has been launched to enable students to:

Stay up to date with university news,

Obtain a digital ID card with a QR code,

Pay tuition fees and bills electronically,

Receive digital receipts,

Track academic schedules and assessments,

Access real-time support and assistance.

Additionally, the smart university card, linked to the Rize application, has been introduced as an innovative and secure digital solution that combines university identification with financial services in one integrated experience.
The card aims to empower young people to manage their finances and enhance their financial awareness from an early age by providing a multi-purpose payment tool that enables money transfers, secure online shopping, ATM withdrawals and deposits, bill payments, mobile top-ups, and access to exclusive student discounts and offers.

At the same time, the card serves as an official university ID, displaying the student’s name, photo, and faculty, providing a seamless and secure experience that merges academic and financial functionalities.
