SAIB Bank signed a cooperation protocol with the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation worth EGP 2.5 million to fund 14 surgeries at the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre in Cairo.
The bank noted that this cooperation comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to support various vital sectors in the country, foremost among which is the medical sector, with the aim of providing distinguished services to all citizens.
The protocol was signed at the bank’s headquarters by Mr. Afzal Najib, CEO and Managing Director of the bank, and Ms. Dina Al-Jazar, Vice President for Development and Fundraising at the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, in the presence of Mr. Tarek Abdo, Deputy Managing Director for Business and Banking Operations, Mr. Amr Naseer, Assistant Managing Director for Retail Banking and Branches, Mr. Amr Othman, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the bank, Ms. Marwa Labib, Head of Corporate Communications and Media Relations, Ms. Mai Badawi, Senior Development Advisor at the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, Ms. Mai Saud, Donor Relations Officer at the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, and a number of senior executives from the bank and the foundation.
The signing comes as a follow-up to a visit by a delegation of bank executives to the Aswan Heart Centre last February, where they were received by Sir Professor Magdi Yacoub. The tour included visits to various departments of the hospital, during which they learned about the mechanisms related to receiving and treating patients and the volume of operations.
Mr. Afzal Najib expressed his pride in the cooperation with the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, emphasising that this partnership represents a fundamental duty within the bank’s community commitment. adding that the protocol comes within the framework of the bank’s multiple initiatives to support areas of social responsibility and expand the base of beneficiaries of the bank’s contributions, which aim to improve the lives of the Egyptian people.
Naguib also pointed out that the bank’s strategy is not limited to providing banking services to customers, but extends to taking into account the social dimension and the needs of different groups in all policies and procedures.
For his part, Mr. Tarek Abdo affirmed that the bank attaches great importance to supporting the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, believing in its humanitarian role in treating heart patients, especially since the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Centre project is considered a global medical edifice on Egyptian soil, working to provide the best levels of global medical care in heart treatment free of charge, in addition to its contribution to training and scientific research that will benefit future generations.
