The protocol was signed on Sunday, 10 August 2025, between Mr. Hisham Okasha , CEO of Banque Misr, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq, President of Cairo University, in the presence of Dr. Fatma El-Goly, Head of Corporate Communications at Banque Misr, Prof.

Under this protocol, Banque Misr will support the Critical Care Centre at Kasr Al-Aini University Hospital – Cairo University Hospitals – with EGP 124 million to provide the necessary medical equipment and supplies to upgrade the efficiency of the first unit in the Critical Care Department.
This support comes as a continuation of Banque Misr’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health sector, including Al-Qasr Al-Aini Hospital, which the bank has previously supported through the Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Department with EGP 12 million to provide medical equipment and supplies, in addition to supporting outpatient clinics with EGP 160 million for comprehensive development.
The bank also contributed EGP 100 million to support the new Al-Qasr Al-Aini Teaching Hospital “Al-Fransawi” to finance the urgent phase of the comprehensive development plan, which includes replacing and renovating the infrastructure and treatment departments and improving the hospital’s efficiency.
Mr. Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, emphasised that the bank’s contribution to the development of the first unit of the critical care centre stems from its belief in the right of individuals to access adequate healthcare, and that Al-Qasr Al-Aini University Hospital is a leading medical institution that provides safe and free treatment services to those in need without discrimination. Akkash pointed out that this support reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting the health sector due to its vital strategic importance in people’s lives, and comes within the framework of supporting the state’s efforts in the health sector, which is one of the main pillars of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and one of the most important development goals to which the bank seeks to contribute in a sustainable manner.
Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadiq affirmed that this cooperation reflects the effective community partnership between national institutions to support the health sector and is an important step towards enhancing the capabilities of Cairo University hospitals in providing advanced and safe treatment services, thereby contributing to serving citizens and supporting the state’s efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030 in the health field.
The university president thanked Banque Misr, its leadership and employees for their continued support and unique initiatives, emphasising that this generosity is not merely a financial contribution, but a real investment in the health of Egyptian citizens and support for Qasr Al-Aini to continue its humanitarian and scientific mission in providing advanced medical care.
Banque Misr is one of the largest banks that attaches great importance to social responsibility, allocating approximately 1.2 billion Egyptian pounds to invest in various areas of social responsibility during 2024, while striving to set a positive example that reflects positively on the sustainable development of society as a whole
