Banque Misr signed a cooperation protocol with Misr El Kheir Foundation to automate all of the foundation’s financial payments and collections in order to promote digital transformation and financial inclusion.
In addition, five specialised medical convoys will be deployed to serve people with special needs in the governorates of Dakahlia, Sharqia, Alexandria, Beheira, and Minya.
The cooperation protocols were signed by Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, and Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El Kheir Foundation, in the presence of Hossam El Din Abdel Wahab, Deputy CEO of Banque Misr, Dr. Mohamed Refai, CEO of Misr El Kheir Foundation, and a group of leaders from the bank and the foundation.
The signing of the protocol for the automation of the foundation’s financial payments and collections comes within the framework of promoting financial inclusion and digital transformation, in line with the Egyptian state’s efforts to implement electronic payment systems in various sectors and move towards a cashless society. This will enable Misr El-Kheir to manage its financial operations with all parties with disabilities in real time to ensure transparency, in addition to providing integrated banking solutions for the foundation. This protocol is a step within the bank’s strategy for digital transformation and localisation of advanced technological services with the aim of facilitating the payment process for citizens.
The protocol also targeted the implementation of specialised medical convoys in five governorates for people with special needs. The convoys provide integrated and free medical services to the target groups, including early detection of diseases and the provision of necessary treatment and rehabilitation, thereby contributing to improving their health and quality of life. The convoys also provide awareness services aimed at providing psychological and social support to beneficiaries. This cooperation comes within the framework of Banque Misr’s commitment to its social responsibility and in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which aims to integrate and empower people with disabilities in society and provide them with equal opportunities in education, employment, healthcare, social integration, and raising community awareness of their rights and abilities.
Mr. Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, stated that this cooperation confirms Banque Misr’s keenness, as a leading financial institution, to promote efforts to automate electronic payments and collections and support the institution’s community development efforts, particularly in the health sector. He praised the cooperation with Misr El-Kheir Foundation, noting its efficiency and impressive achievements in reaching beneficiaries at all levels. Okasha added that Banque Misr is always keen to encourage partnerships between different sectors of Egyptian society, including government, civil society, and the private sector, by providing a successful model in society that can later be replicated at all levels and in all sectors, in order to contribute effectively and genuinely to the development and advancement of society.
For his part, Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El-Kheir Foundation, said that the signing of the two protocols today is an extension of the strategic cooperation between Misr El-Kheir Foundation and Banque Misr to start a new step in sustainable development aimed at providing direct development services, whether in the areas of financial inclusion and digital transformation or medical convoys for people with disabilities.
He pointed out that the cooperation includes the automation of Misr El-Kheir Foundation’s receipts and payments, which will have a positive impact on the implementation of digital transformation and financial inclusion, thereby saving time in financial approvals for many different banking services, as well as reducing the risks of money circulation.
Dr. Ali Jumaa noted that the Misr El-Kheir Foundation aims to expand the provision of medical convoys for people with disabilities and always seeks to support opportunities for them in all health, social, economic, sports and cultural aspects within a package of development interventions that includes identifying and meeting their needs, especially the health aspect, through the provision of various medical services.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Misr El-Kheir Foundation pointed out that the cooperation between the Foundation and Banque Misr has been ongoing for a year, in addition to the implementation of sub-protocols, noting that the strategic partnership with Banque Misr is a source of pride for the development services it provides to all Egyptians, especially given the place this national institution has held in all our hearts since its establishment 105 years ago.
