Hayat Egypt Lays Foundation Stone for New Hygiene Factory in SCZONE with Attendance of SCZONE Chairman and Turkish Ambassador

Hayat Egypt Hygienic Products S.A.E, a subsidiary of global FMCG leader Hayat, officially laid the foundation stone for its newest hygiene production facility located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) in Ain El Sokhna.

The foundation ceremony took place in the esteemed presence of H.E. Mr. Salih Mutlu Şen, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Egypt, and Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZONE, G.M Tarek Hamed El shazly , Governor of Suez, alongside senior executives from Hayat, led by Mr. Senol Keserliogu, General Manager of Hayat Egypt.
The new factory demonstrates Hayat’s continued commitment to investing in Egypt, while supporting both domestic employment and export-driven industrial growth. Once operational, the facility will employ over 400 Egyptian workers, producing baby diapers and feminine hygiene products. Production is planned to be 75% export-oriented, with the remaining 25% dedicated to the local market.
On this occasion Mr. Senol Keserliogu, GM of Hayat Egypt said: “Egypt continues to be a strategic hub for Hayat’s operations, and today’s milestone reflects our promise to expand our footprint to meet both local and global demand.”
H.E. Mr. Salih Mutlu Şen, Turkish Ambassador. Added “This investment affirms the trust Turkish companies have in Egypt’s market potential and stable expansion environment.”
Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZONE, added: “These investments reflect the strong confidence that Turkish investors have in the investment climate within the SCZONE. This comes as a result of the Authority’s extensive promotional efforts in recent periods, as well as the substantial investments made in infrastructure and utilities, all developed to the highest international standards. In addition, we’ve worked to digitize the one-stop shop services to enhance the investor experience and overcome all challenges they may face. We look forward to attracting more investments from around the world to fulfill the Authority’s vision of localizing and deepening industrial activity across target sectors, while also boosting Egyptian exports. This comes at a time when Egypt enjoys political and economic stability and strong international relations which are the key pillars in transforming Egypt into a global industrial base and logistics hub.”

General Major, Tarek Hamed El Shazly, Governor of Suez, added: “Laying the foundation stone for Hayat Egypt’s new factory marks a new milestone that reflects the growing investment in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. We welcome all investments that contribute to driving development and creating job opportunities, and we fully support this project to become a regional hub for hygiene industries.”
The factory is scheduled to be fully operational by March 2026 and will boost Hayat Egypt’s hygiene production capacity by 55% upon completion. With total investments in Egypt now reaching USD 632 million,
This strategic expansion supports Hayat’s broader vision of contributing to Egypt’s industrial development, while reinforcing Egypt’s role as an export hub for Hayat Global to meet both local and global market needs. It also addresses the growing global demand for high-quality hygiene products.
