The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has participated in a roundtable organized by UNDP Egypt, titled “The Future of AI: Shaping the Workforce, Society, and Economy.” The roundtable was organized as part of the Future of Digital Countries (FDC) Summit 2025, taking place under the patronage of the ICT Minister.
The session featured the engagement of leading experts, policymakers, and innovators. They discussed how AI is transforming industries, reshaping workforce dynamics, and driving shifts in economic structures. Participants also examined the opportunities AI offers and the risks it presents, including job displacement and widening inequality.
The discussion focused on the need for responsible innovation, investment in future-oriented skills, stronger institutional readiness, and strategies to ensure AI-driven growth is inclusive and equitable.
The roundtable is part of a broader dialogue to shape proactive policies and forge partnerships for an AI-powered future serving society.
It is worth noting that FDC Summit is one of the most prominent ICT events in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East. This year’s edition is taking place on April 28-30 under the theme “The Arch of Digital,” and joined by officials from the public and private sectors across the Middle East, Africa, and the United Kingdom (UK).
The Summit aims to foster regional and international cooperation by establishing strategic partnerships among governments, multinationals, and academic and research centers across the Arab and African regions to drive innovation and facilitate knowledge exchange within the digital industry.
